The Lepe Loop

This is an 8 kilometre (5 mile) coast and countryside circular walk around Lepe and Exbury, following the shoreline (at low tides), country lanes, gravel tracks and well-marked field and woodland paths - at high tide, there is an alternative route away that bypasses part of the shore. It's all very straight-forward, mostly on the flat and with clear signs. The walk is likely to take around 2 hours at a leisurely pace but beware, during winter and after spells of heavy rain, the paths can be muddy so at those times, wellingtons or strong footwear are recommended.

The route starts within the country park before going west, along the shoreline. 0.75 kilometres (half a mile) beyond Inchmery House, head north, inland, to complete the circuit away from the shore.

An illustrated 'trail guide' leaflet detailing the route is available at modest cost from the country park information centre, whilst an online version is available here, courtesy of Hampshire County Council.
