The structure of this website reflects the main navigation options shown towards the top of each page - contained in the line with dark background positioned a little below the top-of-page banner images. These options signify the subject categories for which information is available here.

When directly related, lower level navigation options exist within a subject category, these further navigation options are shown in a line immediately below the main navigation heading line, but only after a main navigation option has been 'clicked'. (The background colour of the 'clicked' main navigation option at this time changes to match the background colour of the lower level navigation line). The further, lower level navigation options are also usually repeated on the introductory page displayed in response to a main navigation option being chosen.

(A small number of additional 'miscellaneous' navigation options also appear at the top and bottom of each page).

The main navigation options are repeated below:

New Forest ponies in the road
Ponies, cattle, pigs, sheep and donkeys are a popular part of the New Forest scene, but during the first six months of 2018, 36 animals were killed or injured on Forest roads, compared with 26 in the same period in 2017, a shocking rise of 38%. And in the full year, 63 animals were killed on the roads compared to 56 in 2017.
