New Forest Cycle Route Closures

1) From Wednesday, 2nd May, 2012 until Monday 7th May, 2012 maintenance work will be carried out on the cycle track from the Blackwater car park leading into Poundhill Inclosure. There will be a diversion in place nearby, so this should not cause too much disruption.

2) From Tuesday 8th May, the cycle route will be closed from Blackwater car park, leading all the way up to Hursthill Inclosure. There will also be no access from opposite Brockhill car park or Fletchers Thorns.

This will effectively mean there will not be a direct route between Bank and Blackwater. However a diversion will be put in place via Bolderford Bridge, then along the road back up to Blackwater.

There is potentially a lot of work to do in the area, including ditching work, resurfacing and bridge repairs, so work could take up to two months to complete.

This closure will be in place 7 days a week.

3) Timber harvesting work is due to start in Marchwood Inclosure during week commencing 7th May, 2012. No cycle routes will be affected although Marchwood car park will be closed off whilst the timber is collected from the area. This work should be completed within one month.
